As Internet Explorer 8 is now available since nearly a month, Microsoft has announced that it will start to deliver it as high-priority or important within the next weeks. In case you do not want your computer to download and install IE8, we have created a plugin that can be used to disable the automatic delivery of IE8. Once installed, you will find it inside "System - Software Installation - Block Internet Explorer Installation".
To retrieve these updates just start Automatic Updates from within X-Setup Pro.

New plugins for Windows, Firefox and Windows Installer are available
2008-9-16 | We have released several new plugins for X-Setup Pro today.
You can now make the CAPS-LOCK key to behave like a normal shift key or disable it all together. Another plugin will allow you to gain access to the "System Volume Information" folder (works for XP Home/Vista Basic also). And in case you have disk space trouble, a new plugin allows you to limit the amount of disk space Windows Installer will use for caching patch files.
For Firefox we have included three new plugins. One allows you to specify the location of your bookmarks (Firefox 1 & 2) and another one can be used to enable resizing popup windows even if the JavaScript code disallows this. Finally, you can now control if secure websites should be displayed with a blue site button before the address bar, making it much more clear if you are using a secure connection or not.

Vista Constant HD Activity Craziness
2007-11-17 | As it seems that more people now switch to Windows Vista, we are getting a lot of complains about the constant HD activity of Windows Vista. Since we have switched to Vista already and we got so many requests about this topic, we refer to this only as "Vista Constant HD Activity Craziness".
The obvious question from the customers were "Can X-Setup Pro be used to fix this?". So we invested some time to find out what is causing all this HD activity. Our findings, which include the programs that cause the most HD activity, what they are good for and how you can configure them, can be found on the Information Transmogrification Blog of TeX HeX. If you want to know what is going on in the background, have a look.
Since all these programs can be configured in Windows right out of the box, we have currently no plans to include extra plugins in X-Setup Pro.
Important information regarding the update protection
2007-11-8 | Please note: If you purchase an update protection, it will be attached to the previous expiring date!
For example: You purchased a license on 2nd July 2006. The expiring date would be the 2nd July 2007. If you now purchase an update protection, it will be attached to this date. The new expiring date would be the 2nd July 2008. If you purchase this update in June 2008, the expiring date would be the 2nd of July 2008, anyway! If you purchase this update in August 2007, the expiring date is over - because it would have been in July 2008.
You will not be able to update the serial and you have to purchase a new license, if you want to have a serial for a newer version. Therefore please pay attention to the reminder mails and get a new update protection in time.

X-Setup Pro Price Reduction!
2007-8-23 | We are happy to announce that, because of internal optimizations, we are able to reduce the price of X-Setup Pro to 19.95 USD!
Please note that there will be no restrictions in the services we offer, there are only two changes: First, we do no longer sell CD versions of X-Setup Pro as our merchant SWREG does now offer this. Secondly, we will no longer provide an official German version of X-Setup Pro as this version does not pay off. As with the other Language Packs, we will support the community to offer German versions of X-Setup Pro and of course handover all translations we have done so far.
If you have bought X-Setup Pro in the last three months for the old (and higher) price, we will add six months of Update Protection for free! You do not need to take any action to receive this bonus. We will automatically update the accounts and inform these customers.
