I have forgotten all my licensing details! How should I proceed?

The first option is to use the Retrieve serial number function and enter the email address you have used to buy X-Setup Pro. Within five minutes, the License Center will send you an email containing all details.

I have forgotten all my licensing details and even can't remember the email account I used! Do I need to buy a new license?

No. Please send an email to support@x-setup.net with as many details as possible (Street Address, Country, email account you can remember, when bought etc.) and we'll try to find you in our customer database.

I forgot the email address I used to buy X-Setup Pro and can't update! How should I proceed?

Simple: Use the Status report function and enter any serial number you have received from us. The License Center will look up the most current serial number and client details (e.g. the email) and send it to you.

I can no longer access the email address used for X-Setup Pro. How can I update it with you?

Currently, this must be done manually. Please send the last status report or the purchase order of X-Setup Pro to support@x-setup.net and we'll change it for you.

Why is it necessary that I need to update my serial number with each release of X-Setup Pro? That's so complicated!

Simple answer: Piracy. With the normal serial number method you get one serial number you can use all the time, with any new release of the software if applicable. However, this also allows any stolen (pirated) serial number to be used. Because of this, most software has a much higher price than X-Setup Pro (around 30 USD) because the vendors calculate with a ratio of 1:5, meaning that with one sold copy there go five users using the software illegally. With our method, every new release of X-Setup Pro renders all stolen serial number useless. This means, we have a ratio of round about 1:3, so that we can keep our prices low.

Why can't I lookup my data online (with my browser) but instead must use e-mail to review my data?

Because we want to avoid that somebody could hijack your serial number. If somebody steals your serial number, he might be able to use X-Setup Pro illegally, but he's unable to update your serial number without your knowledge (because the update message will go to your email account). Doing this via our website would allow him to update your serial number without your knowledge and you would not longer have access to the serial number you have paid for.

I have registered several X-Setup Pro licenses. Where can I get an overview?

If you used one email address to buy all of these licenses, Status Report or Retrieve Lost Serial Number will include all of them. If you have used different email addresses, you need to query each of them separately.

I have registered several X-Setup Pro licenses, is it possible to join them together somehow?

Yes, this is possible but only manually from our side. We will need to talk to you simply because each of the registered licenses will have a different Update Protection period and thus we need to check how we could join them together. Please send your request with all serial numbers you wish to join together to support@x-setup.net.
